Happy holidays! I love this time of year when friends and family gather together to celebrate the season, and there is usually food involved! I find myself setting many Christmas tables at this time of year, and am always challenged when I have to make a centerpiece for a long table.

Click on the video below for a quick tour of this table!

Luckily I have found an easy solution that takes only minutes to make and works with any color scheme or place settings!

This pretty, fresh pine centerpiece works perfectly for a long table because it can be made as long as necessary and yet is low and does not block guest’s views.

To create this look, I started with a simple white table cloth and then layered a bed of fresh pine branches down the center of the table. I trimmed any pieces that were too wide and made sure the ends were tucked in.

For this table, I wanted to continue the tartan plaid theme from the Christmas decorations in my family room, so I tucked in 12″ strips of ribbon to the pine branches along the whole length of the centerpiece. This is the same technique that I use to put ribbon to my Christmas trees. You can see those details by clicking HERE.

After I got the ribbon in place, I added in copper painted greenery and then sprinkled frosted pinecones and glittered ornaments on the pine runner.

The final touch was the addition of six copper candle holders with white taper candles. And that was it! So easy to make this centerpiece on a long table in just minutes!

Once I completed the centerpiece, I still wanted to add a bit more of the tartan plaid accent, so I placed a piece of ribbon on each side of the table and let it drape over the edge. A simple v-cut finished the end of the ribbon.

This easy ribbon accent was the perfect addition to the table and created a pretty base for the place settings.

I used bright copper chargers as my place setting base with light blue and white embossed plates on top. I added a dark blue napkin square to the salad plate and placed a piece of copper greenery, tied with wired garland to each place.

I really love this color combination and think it would be lovely for Christmas or any holiday celebration.

This easy centerpiece is perfect for a long table and can be made in just minutes using any color combination you like. I especially like the ribbon underneath the place settings as an added accent on the white tablecloth. I hope this inspires you to make your own fresh pine centerpiece this season!
