Farmhouse Kitchen Fall Decorating Ideas
Hi You Guys! I hope you’re having a wonderful week! I’m feeling all of the fall vibes around our house and am in full decorating mode now. After finishing the living room and dining room , I headed into the kitchen this week to add a bit of autumn color to my decor. I decided to go with more of a farmhouse look this year, so today I’m sharing some fall decorating ideas for the kitchen that I hope you like!
This fall, my kitchen decor looks very different than last fall. I still chose a neutral palette (because I’m that kind of girl), but I used more classic fall colors.
Isn’t it amazing how different a room can look with just a few changes!?
I decided to use a more subtle traditional fall color palette this year as opposed to the neutral greens and whites I chose last fall. The result was a very warm look that definitely says fall colors without being too bold or bright.
I started with a simple trug filled with white mini pumpkins alongside faux white and gray pumpkins. I love this idea for easy fall decorating because it only takes a minute but makes a big impact on a center island or countertop.
I also added a fall wreath, made of dried hops, to my kitchen range hood. It’s a great idea to add wreaths to your fall and winter decor to create a festive look and celebrate the coming holiday season.
Restyling the glass front cabinets in my kitchen is the perfect way to signal a change of season. I replaced the all-white dishes with some pretty copper bowls and canisters. I also filled a dough bowl with a few heirloom pumpkins I found at my local market.
On the prep island, I filled my favorite pitcher with the most beautiful faux fall branches. I love that these will last through the entire season and always look fresh! The best part is, they are super affordable.
These fall branches make a big statement in the kitchen and create that farmhouse look I wanted.
Of course, I had to get all of my copper pots out and hang them above my range. You may have noticed that my collection is growing because I am a bit obsessed with beautiful vintage copperware. I love the idea of keeping these on display in the cooler months and putting them away when the weather warms up.
On the window above the farmhouse sink, I hung a simple wheat wreath. This color was the inspiration for my farmhouse kitchen decor this year. I love the soft color and yet it still makes a big statement at this time of year. I also filled a tall white vase with a bunch of wheat stalks and hung two tobacco baskets above the side windows.
The overall idea for my fall kitchen decor was to create a farmhouse look with neutral colors.
By using copper tones mixed with natural woods and some soft wheat and orange tones, I was able to create a simple autumn look that will last until Thanksgiving and beyond.
I hope this gives you some ideas about how to add some simple fall farmhouse decor to your kitchen.
Beautiful! What color did you use on the lower island cabinets? The blueish?
Thanks Kelly! Here is a link to the sources for my kitchen. https://sanctuaryhomedecor.com/room-sources-and-design-details/
Beautiful! What color are the powers island cabinets? The blueish grayish. I had a typo in my previous email address so I am reposting.
Your kitchen is beautiful! I have very similar decor in my kitchen this year including the copper pots and accessories. I love neutrals but for fall like more warm colors. The light in the room in the afternoon gives a autumn glow and reflects the copper. Thanks for the great pictures and enjoy the season.
Thanks for your sweet note Kathy! Happy fall to you!!
Lovely pictures! One of my family’s favorite fall decorations is a halloween themed rug that we put in our hallway. We just got the rug cleaned so we can put it out this season. Unfortunately, it’s not a trendy rug but the kids love it. We definitely need to do more fall decorating though and this is great inspiration! Thanks!
How did you hang the pots? Can you give me the link to those hooks?
Hi Kristen,
I used hooks from my local hardware store and hung them from the vent above my range. Hope that helps.
where did you get does corbels?
I found ham at a local vintage shop.
