How to Freshen Up a Porch for Spring

I’m ready for spring and the first place I’m starting is on my front porch. This week I headed outside and planted some spring flowers and added just a few things to create a lighter and brighter look for the coming season. Today I wanted to share with you a few tips for how to freshen up a porch for spring.

When it comes to spring porch decor I love a light and bright look with a little pop of color.

I started with a pretty blue and white rug with a traditional doormat layered on top.

I flanked the door with two urns that I planted with bouganvilla. I have had these urns for quite some time and this year I decided to paint them a soft gray color so they would be more versatile and match our overall exterior color scheme better. I love how they turned out!

I also planted a couple of woven baskets with some spring flowers to add an additional pop of color and brightness. I simply lined the baskets with plastic trash bags and added potting soil to fill them up.

I placed my favorite lantern on one side because I didn’t want a completely symmetrical look.

I also included a small potted ranunculus on the side tables next to our rocking chairs.

The final touch was a faux cherry blossom wreath hanging on the front door.

Watson approved of our updated spring porcha nd was ready to welcome visitors!
