Easy Christmas Gift Wrapping Without Bows

|

Decorating, shopping, entertaining, cooking, family gatherings…the holiday season can definitely be stressful. As much as I can, I like to keep things simple and easy when it comes to Christmas celebrations around our home. This includes my gift wrapping. I absolutely use gift bags and tissue paper for some gifts, but I also like to have fun and be a little creative with my wrapping. This year, I decided to create a whole theme around easy Christmas gift wrapping without bows.

Have you ever spent a ton of time creating a beautifully wrapped gift for someone, with a gorgeous bow, only to find that it gets smashed or crushed before it’s opened? I sure have, so this year I decided to wrap all of my gifts without any bows!

Instead of tying traditional ribbons around my packages with a bow on top. I used layers of ribbon and decorative tape to create unique designs and patterns that are both festive and beautiful.

The idea started when I saw an interesting copper tape that is usually used for technical and electrical purposes, but I thought would be a beautiful addition to my Christmas gifts. When it arrived, I got out some of my favorite ribbons and decorative Washi tapes and got creative!

I layered satin ribbon with decorative tape in a plaid pattern over silver wrapping paper. This created a pretty package in just minutes.

I played around with different patterned papers. mixed with ribbon and Washi tape and even added a few copper bells attached with twine.

For a more feminine look, I attached some pretty holly berries to the smaller packages with twine and a larger piece across the bigger boxes.

The beauty of this wrapping is that it takes just minutes and is super fun and creative. I chose to use a limited palette of colors, to sort of match my living room Christmas tree, but it would be equally beautiful in traditional Christmas colors of whimsical, kid-friendly paper.

The key is to have fun with whatever colors you love and whatever style suits you.

I hope this gives you a few ideas about how to easily wrap beautiful Christmas gifts without ever having to tie a bow!
